Band and Strings

School-based instrumental instruction programs are offered to students in the intermediate grades, through separate BAND and STRINGS programs. These are user paid programs and are not part of the regular school curriculum. Prior musical experience is not required before joining the program. Students are required to provide their own instrument as well as music book(s).

Both the Band and Strings programs are held in the Activity Room at Braemar.  

Band program is for students in Grades 5 - 7, and Strings Program is for students in Grades 4 - 7.

2023-2024 Elementary Band Program 
 
The Band Program offers students in grades 5, 6 and 7 an opportunity to learn how to play a brass, woodwind or percussion instrument. The Band teacher is Alexei Solomakha (asolomakha@sd44.ca)

                         Continuing Band     8:40 am - 9:20 am

 2023-2024 Elementary Strings Program 

 
The Strings Program offers students in grades 4 to 7 an opportunity to learn how to play string instruments such as violins and cellos. The Strings teacher is Clarice Scop (cscop@sd44.ca).
